ENGLISH TEACHER (SECONDARY LEVEL)

Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s (ECS) is a small by design, community-oriented independent girls’ school in the Montreal area. We embrace a progressive approach to 21st century learning with a focus on cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset in students from K-11. ECS’ mission is to nurture each girl, empowering them to carve their own future and develop a sense of global citizenship in an ever-evolving world.

ECS seeks an ELA teacher to join the Middle and Senior School. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a culturally rich setting and understands that education develops and broadens minds. ENGLISH TEACHER
(100% Full -time) - Replacement contract
75%  ELA Teacher, 25% English Learning Support Services
START DATE: AUGUST 2025

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in English literature (MATL candidates preferred). 
  • Quebec Teaching Permit/Brevet d'enseignement
  • Impeccable reading and writing abilities, with a love for and interest in literature and the Liberal Arts.
  • Ability to work with diverse learners and support students following intensive athletic or artistic programmes.  
  • Willing to commit to the ECS co-curricular programme.  
 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Teaching literature, argumentative/persuasive, and essay writing.
  • An understanding in implementing the MEQ programme
  • Willingness to contribute to the department’s intellectual life.
  • Manage a school newspaper, literary journal, etc.
  • Interest in pursuing AP PD training.
  • Versed in literary analysis.
